Developmental editing looks at the big picture of your story. I’ll read through your manuscript and provide feedback on your plot, pacing, characters, and other overarching elements. I’ll let you know what works and what doesn’t, and give some auggestions on how to move forward.

Rates start at C$0.013/word, depending on the complexity of the project.

Line editing

Line editing happens at the sentence level. I’ll make sure your prose is as strong as it could be, identifying errors, awkward phrasing, repeated words, and more.

My rate for line editing is C$0.009/word.

Proofreading

Proofreading should be the last step in preparing your manuscript for publication. I’ll look for grammatical problems, missed punctuation, and other errors.

My proofreading rate is C$0.006/word.

Flat rate based on word count

Need a second set of eyes on your manuscript before sending it to an agent or editor? I can give you some feedback on what’s working or not. This isn’t as thorough as a developmental edit, but is much less expensive!

Edits on a budget

Flat rate of C$125

If you need editing but can’t quite afford a full edit, this might be an option for you! For a flat fee of C$125, I’ll do a line edit on 10,000 words of your manuscript. Then you can take my edits and apply them to the rest of your manuscript yourself.
